RUN, FOREST! RUN!

Going up?

My yogi feet.

I find that my mind runs non-stop. I'm talking from the moment I wake up at 5am until the moment I finally put my head down at night.  Sometimes even past that. There are times when my thoughts go into overdrive after lights out and I will spend most of my time "trying to sleep" but instead just tossing and turning trying to quiet my thoughts.

The only time I can truly slow my brain down is when I practice yoga.

After a long day it's easy for me to get sucked into the couch with a glass of wine in hand and bad reality TV in the background for white noise. No matter how tired I am though, I will get in my car and drive 30+ minutes to see my favorite yoga instructor in the city. I try to practice 2-3 times a week. It's really the only thing that gives me sanity.

The power of yoga is hard to describe, but the purpose is simple.  It is a physical, mental, and spiritual discipline that aims to transform mind, body and spirit.

Now more than ever, between our selfies and juice cleanses, I think it is important to find something that helps you stop, breathe, and find peace in some way.  That for me is yoga.

What's yours?
